My belief is that all educators should strive to bring out the very best in their students and teach them how to be critical thinkers who are able to apply their knowledge across various situations and contexts. If educators assist their students in achieving their educational goals and/or dreams, then they have been successful. Whether a child or an adult, you never forget your best and worst teachers. A great teacher has the power to encourage a student to work hard and achieve excellence, whereas a bad teacher has the power to discourage a student and cause them to doubt their abilities. I have the honor of saying in my educational journey I have encountered more of the former. My most effective teachers challenged me and fostered my desire to learn. They had a teaching approach that was almost enchanting. Since learning was meaningful and fun, their teachings left a long-lasting impression on me that made me believe that I could do and be anything I desired with an open mind and hard work. This is what inspired me to become not just a great teacher, but also an educational leader.
